Dear Prospective Board Member,

Let me start by thanking you for expressing interest in serving on ACAR’s Board of Directors. Since its inception in 1995, ACAR has worked tirelessly to support the efforts of our 16 member rape crisis centers with the goal of facilitating effective, efficient, and compassionate care to victims of sexual violence and their families. It is the mission of ACAR to endeavor to continually improve the treatment of sexual violence survivors and to ultimately end sexual violence.

As someone who has indicated your support of this mission, I ask you to consider taking the next step and joining ACAR’s efforts as a member of our Board of Directors. We have a small, but fantastic staff at ACAR who carry out the duties of administration, finance, training, and technical assistance, policy development, prevention, and advocacy. We feel that we have put together a team that are experts in our field and that are tireless advocates for victims of sexual assault. We need board members on our team to focus on critical governance issues including strategic planning, financial oversight, and fund development.

We are currently seeking new board members who will expand our capabilities in those areas and strengthen our connections with the business community, culturally specific populations, and diverse geographic areas of our state. We know that a strong Board of Directors is essential to pursuing our mission. I ask you to consider bringing your experience and passion to ACAR by serving as a member of our Board of Directors.

We appreciate your consideration and your continued support in the fight against sexual violence.
